A couple of weeks ago, I encouraged you to consider inviting others to join you in the growing Oboedire family. I want to expand on that invitation and share some actual things others have told me they are doing in this regard.
(1) Establishing an “Oboedire Fellowship.” It can be you and one other person who meet as you like (in person, on the phone, Skype) and talk about the recent postings and how they are influencing your spiritual formation. (Note: you will now find a new icon on the Oboedire home page to provide guidance in having such a fellowship).
(2) A pastor who subscribes to Oboedire and receives the daily postings automatically simply used the Announcement period in worship to say a few words about how Oboedire is shaping his faith, and he pointed to a connection announcement in the bulletin that included the site address. He invited folk in the congregation to join the Oboedire journey.
(3) Write about Oboedire in your church newsletter or post something about it on your church website. Invite people to become part of the Oboedire family.
(4) Some Oboedire family members have their own blogs and have commented to their readers about their Oboedire experience, as well as linked their readership to the site. Some do this periodically when they read a particularly-meaningful post that they want to pass on to others.
I hope these simple suggestions help stimulate your own thinking about how you can be a means of growing the family. If you have done other things to do this, let me know and I’ll share them on the blog.
